LIGA SUKAN UMS - WOMEN BASKETBALL

A basketball tournament for women’s team – SSMP versus SPE was held on February 27, 2010 at sport complex. The game started at 5.10 p.m. and ended at 5.40 p.m. Our school representatives were Chan Shet Teng, Lee Kah Nyan, Chong May Yee, Ming Hui, Josy , Ai Ling, Annie Chua, Shirley Chong Li Fang.

Start from the beginning, SPE team got a good lead. Even though our school team tried very hard in playing the game, our school team still to be no match for SPE team. This was because SPE team was the champion for last year’s basketball tournament and our school representatives were just beginners in playing basketball. As a result, the game was ended up with 2 versus 24 (SSMP versus SPE).

The second match of basketball tournament for women’s team was held on February 28, 2010 at sport complex. The match started at 5.50 p.m. and ended at 6.20 p.m. The match was SSMP team versus SPPS team. Our school representatives were Chan Shet Teng, Josy, Annie Chua, Shirley Chong Li Fang, Ai Ling, Chan Nan Chee, Loh Kar Woen, Chong May Yee, Lim Hui Shan, Wong Chiu Yen.

This match is considered as drastic match and one of our school representatives was falling down during the match. Unfortunately, during the first round of the match, our school team was unable to get any points. However, our opponent was able to shoot three balls. During the second round, our school team managed to get two points and SPPS team shot a ball again.

Finally, the result for the second match SSMP versus SPPS was 2 versus 8.

For the third match of basketball tournament for women’s team was held on March 2, 2010 at sport complex. The match started at 5.00 p.m. and ended at 5.20p.m. This match was SSMP team versus SST team. Our school representatives were Chan Shet Teng, Josy, Shirley Chong Li Fang, Ai Ling, Chan Nan Chee, Loh Kar Woen, Lim Hui Shan, Wong Chiu Yen.

This match can said that may be we are used wrong technique or we lack of practice. Therefore, we have lost a lot of mark during this match. We just able to shoot one ball during second round of the match.

Finally, the result of this match was 2 versus 12 which is SSMP versus SST.

For the forth match and also the last match of basketball tournament for women’s team was held on March 11, 2010 at sport complex. The match started at 5.00 p.m. and ended at 5.20p.m. This match was SSMP team versus SST team. Our school representatives were Chan Shet Teng, Josy, Annie Chua, Shirley Chong Li Fang, Ai Ling, Loh Kar Woen, Chong May Yee, Rachel, Chong Wan Yue, Wong Chiu Yen.

This match is considered the best we have play among the four match. We are able to shoot the 3 balls during the first round of the match. However, we are lack defense so that opponent had shot the third ball at the last 2 seconds of the first round. After that, the second round of the match, we had managed to shot one ball of the penalty.

Although our school team had tried their best in this match, however, they still can’t win. Anyway, the game was ended up with 7 versus 12 (SSMP versus SSS).

All the students are compulsory to fill in the course evaluation form online.

Recently, one of our forth year senior was peeped by stranger at the toilet of SSMP. Thus, make sure that you are accompanied by friends when you are going to toilet . Please inform officer of SSMP if you notice any suspicious strangers.

2) PLEASE WEAR SSMP T-SHIRT EVERY TUESDAY

You are encouraged to wear SSMP T-shirt every Tuesday in order to show that we are one family. Therefore, wear the SSMP T-shirt if you are one of us.

Course Evaluation Form

Hi peeps~!
The end of the semester is coming, and as usual, we are supposed to fill in a Course Evaluation Form for each subject.

But the one thing that is not really as usual is that this semester, we'll need to fill in the evaluation form online! Yes you heard me right, online.
Please log on to http://pk07.ums.edu.my and login with your matrix number as your ID, and your matrix number (again) as your default password. It is strongly recommended that you change your password right after you log in for the first time. =)

On another note, FINALS ARE COMING!
Yea I know, everyone hates finals, me too. I mean, I would love to end it soon so that i can go home soon, but can't we just skip the exams and run home straight?

......

Okay that's highly impossible..


And since we can't burn the exam papers skip the exam and live a carefree life for the next month, PMSSMP has some friendly reminders for you guys out there:

2. Sleep well
3. Study well

AIM Night 2009

Hi all~!
AIM Night is around the corner
and I hope you people out there have already registered to attend the night
for those who are still not clear about the event, here's a short fact sheet:

AIM Night, which stands for "Anugerah Ikatan Mesra" Night, is proposed few years back by SSMP super-super-super seniors (not very sure who though) as an event that gathers SSMP students, lecturers and staffs together to appreciate the hard work done by everyone to keep SSMP as a whole. At the same time, Dean Listers will get acknowledged on stage as the Dean List certificates will be awarded to everyone that scored 3.5 or above in any semester throughout their studies.

This year, AIM Night's theme is THE STAR OF LIFE, and the details of the event are as follow:

Date: 17th October 2009
Time: 7pm - 11pm
Venue: Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort, Tuaran
Attire: Formal (which means normal "prom night" attire) with gold or silver elements

Fees: RM45 per person
Transport: Can be requested upon registeration

Registeration will officially close on the 14th of October, 5pm. For those who are still considering whether or not to attend the event, please decide it by then. However, we do hope that all of you can attend the event to show your support to the committee members that have been preparing this event diligently. =)

Application for PMSSMP Student Board 2009/2010

It's the time of the year again!
Make a change to yourself by joining PMSSMP Student Board!

Okay, for those who doesn't know what i'm talking about, PMSSMP has its Annual General Meeting in October every year, and this year round, it'll be on the 10th of October (Saturday) at UMS Library Auditorium Room, from 9am to 12pm.

And as what every annual general meeting does, the current student board members are going to step down from where we are now, and pass the duty to the next batch of potential leaders. We are going to hold a "General Election" during the meeting, thus we need applicants
**just like how the country works, right?**

For those who are interested to join the board, these are the procedures to follow:

1. Please obtian your application form from the SSMP administration office. Application forms will be available from 30th Sept 2009 to 5th Oct 2009.

2. Please fill in the forms, and return the application form by putting the form into the respective box provided at the office (it'll be just beside the stack of application forms). All applications should be done and sent no later by 5th Oct 2009, 5pm.
**No, we do not except any application fees from anyone.**

3. All applicants will be informed for an interview session which will start from 8th Oct 2009.

4. Shortlisted candidates will undergo an election for the posts of board members during the Annual General Meeting on the 10th Oct 2009, 9am.


Last but not least, we hope that everyone will try their best to attend the meeting, as this is a meeting that concerns yourself as a student of the school. By joining the Annual General Meeting, you will be able to help make a difference to the future of our Student Board, which also means make a difference to your student life. To the good side, of course. =P
